AP Advisers - Logo and Identity
AP Advisers weren't sure if they were satisfied with their new logo. Rain were happy to oblige.
There are a number of things that make up a good logo, such as the actual aesthetic design and typography. However one often overlooked aspect in logo design is oddly function. While visually attractive they don't consider how it needs to display on digital media in different forms, sizes and on backgrounds. This is especially relevant to banners, icons, and various displays for 3rd party profiles such as Facebook, Twitter etc, and in letter-heading and print media.
The original logo had various issues with text in the design which would be deformed at smaller sizes, not to mention as an icon or favicon, and no consideration for different display dimensions. Rain took the original brief for a clean, solid design that incorporated a suggestion of a piechart and wedge and additionally managed to incorporate a suggestion of Mt.Fuji too.
The final design is able to display across all media dimensions and colour backgrounds, plus formed the basis to create further visual elements such as header backgrounds and GMAP custom markers. The full design was delivered in a media pack so AP had ready the logo in whatever form the situation required.
